Healing with Tai Chi
"An exposure to a new form of health fitness, something I can practice home."
Kathy Cameron,
The benefits obtained from Tai Chi I am now able to get from kneeling position to standing unaided and climbing into my daughters 4w drive instead of having to hold my knee up.
Jean,
Hiang has been practising Tai Chi with Sue Chang at Lidcombe Dooleys club since 2004 with additional home sessions everyday for a few minutes at a time.
"Since I was young, I suffered from migraines and bad headaches. I was taking strong medication to alleviate my migraine sufferings. But after a few months of joining Tai Chi classes, I noticed that my migraines were stopping and since then, my migraines have ceased to exist.
It has been 7 years now, and I feel great! The stiffness in my body gradually disappeared, bending over to tie my shoe laces or picking things up from the ground are no longer an issue. I feel a lot healthier and happier now.
I recommend Tai Chi to everyone, especially individuals who suffer migraines or bad headaches. It is better than medication."
Hiang Votoupal,
"My name is Elsa Kelly. For years I had been suffering from arthritis in my knee, shoulder and back. I felt like I had to do something, so my friend and I started to take Tai Chi classes.
After a while, the pain that I had previously felt slowly disappeared. I am now an instructor and I encourage all my friends who feel any arthritic pain to do Tai Chi.
I would like to thank Sue for her teachings, encouragement and support. The most important thing Tai Chi brings me is confident, Happy Living".
Elsa Kelly,
I am specialised in OHS. I have been doing Tai Chi with Sue for 10 years now, as I felt that Tai Chi really balanced my life for OHS purposes.
I found Tai Chi is most relaxing, relieves stresses from the pace of modern living, it is a good exercise and meditation, it is most important, I like it.
When performing Tai Chi, I find that I can mentally switch off and enter a state of deep relaxation and well being. It helped build up my leg muscles and peaceful mind. Sue is patient, explains principles and reasons why things need to be done, and always insists on doing things within your own limits.
David Sanderson,
Tai Chi strengthens my body and improves my balance and confidence.
It has helped me recover from my knee replacement a lot quicker than the doctor had stated. I also found that Tai Chi has help greatly in having a happy life in a way that helps me manage stress and my ability to cope with it. By joining TCFA, I have not only found a happy and healthy lifestyle but also becoming part of a wonderful caring Tai Chi family. My wife, Beth, also enjoys Tai Chi as much as I do. Tai Chi is more than a one hour class, it is a lifestyle which promotes well-being, strength and happiness.
David Miller,
"Looking at me perform Tai Chi now, you can not tell that I am the same person that started Tai Chi only a couple of years ago.
It is not widely known, but some years ago, I suffered severe injuries in a motor vehicle accident, including my neck, hips and knees. I could hardly move without being in pain. I had battled these injuries since my accident and was undergoing regular physiotherapy.
Since first coming to Tai Chi, I have not had to return to the physiotherapist. I have regained much mobility in my joints and have much less stress in my life".
Beverley is a great ambassador for Tai Chi. She constantly strives to promote Tai Chi, to ensure that people can achieve even a fraction of the benefits that she has been fortunate enough to experience and continues to experience.
